As part of this, the sou\u00adthern por\u00adtal block of the 385 m long tun\u00adnel was con\u00adcre\u00adted on June 10, 2021. This also marks the end of the semi-open con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion method, which is neces\u00adsary due to the abra\u00adsive cut of the rock face and gives the pro\u00adject its uni\u00adque cha\u00adrac\u00adte\u00adristics.<br>The four vault blocks of the semi-open con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion method, squeezed bet\u00adween the rail\u00adroad line and the rock for\u00adma\u00adtion, repre\u00adsent the most chal\u00adlen\u00adging sec\u00adtion of the ongo\u00ading rein\u00adforced con\u00adcrete work. The blocks each con\u00adtain bet\u00adween 40 and 50 tons of rein\u00adforce\u00adment and 230 to 280 m\u00b3 of con\u00adcrete, depen\u00adding on the degree of the cut.<br>Fol\u00adlo\u00adwing the con\u00adcre\u00adting of the por\u00adtal block on 10 June 2021, during which 256 m\u00b3 of con\u00adcrete was pla\u00adced in around 14 hours, the con\u00adcre\u00adting of the two inter\u00adme\u00addiate blocks of the pil\u00adgrim step method is still pen\u00adding. ALFRED KUN\u00adZ\u2019s share of the work will be com\u00adple\u00adted at the begin\u00adning of August and the struc\u00adture will be han\u00added over to the road con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion team.<br>The newly built bypass for Rothen\u00adstein is sche\u00addu\u00adled to go into ope\u00adra\u00adtion in&nbsp;2022.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June
