KG<br><strong>Com\u00admer\u00adcial manage\u00adment: <\/strong>  AUGUST REINERS Bau\u00adun\u00adter\u00adneh\u00admung GmbH<br><strong>Object:<\/strong> New con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion of the B88 Rothen\u00adstein bypass<br><strong>Period:<\/strong> 2018 to&nbsp;2022<\/p>\n\n<p>The 385 m long Rothen\u00adstein Tun\u00adnel is part of the new con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion of the B88 fede\u00adral high\u00adway south of Jena, which is inten\u00added to improve the ina\u00adde\u00adquate infra\u00adstruc\u00adture situa\u00adtion around Rothen\u00adstein. The high-capa\u00adcity fede\u00adral high\u00adway will con\u00adnect the city of Jena with sou\u00adthern Thu\u00adrin\u00adgia and serve as a large-scale link bet\u00adween the A4 and A9 motorways.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The tun\u00adnel route of the two-lane road tun\u00adnel is led from the exis\u00adting fede\u00adral high\u00adway 88 in the Saale val\u00adley south of Rothen\u00adstein at an acute angle into the steep rock and runs uphill to the nor\u00adt\u00adhern por\u00adtal on the nor\u00adt\u00adhern flank of the Rothen\u00adstein rock. Under the pro\u00adtec\u00adtion of a pipe umbrella, the tun\u00adnell\u00ading work beg\u00adins from the north, des\u00adcen\u00adding through the first lay\u00aders of loess and slope loam and sand\u00adstone wea\u00adthe\u00adring zones. The main drift sec\u00adtion pas\u00adses through rock lay\u00aders of the Middle Bunt\u00adsand\u00adstein, which mostly con\u00adsist of hori\u00adzon\u00adtally bedded medium-bedded sand\u00adstone with flaky to thin-bedded clay-silts\u00adtone lay\u00aders. The sand\u00adstone lay\u00aders appear in the pro\u00adject area with fluc\u00adtua\u00adting rock strength and a very high sen\u00adsi\u00adti\u00advity to water. Fault zones and the frac\u00adtu\u00adred rock require adjus\u00adt\u00adments to the cut-off lengths and the respec\u00adtive excava\u00adtion dimen\u00adsi\u00adons during the tun\u00adnel work in order to coun\u00adter\u00adact the com\u00adplex rock struc\u00adtures and chan\u00adging sub\u00adsoil con\u00addi\u00adti\u00adons. The Rothen\u00adstein Tun\u00adnel is being built with a dou\u00adble-shell tun\u00adnel con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion con\u00adsis\u00adting of a tem\u00adpo\u00adrary load-bea\u00adring shot\u00adcrete outer shell, which is instal\u00adled imme\u00addia\u00adtely after excava\u00adtion, and a water-imper\u00admeable rein\u00adforced con\u00adcrete inner&nbsp;shell.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion sequence envi\u00adsa\u00adges inter\u00adrupt\u00ading the north drive 75 m before the breakth\u00adrough and the future south por\u00adtal and then dri\u00adving the last few meters by means of coun\u00adter-dri\u00adving. This mea\u00adsure is struc\u00adtu\u00adrally neces\u00adsary as the new tun\u00adnel route at the south por\u00adtal emer\u00adges at an acute angle from the steep rock face in the Saale val\u00adley onto the old B88 fede\u00adral high\u00adway. Due to this slo\u00adping, acute-angled course of the tun\u00adnel to the rock face, it is neces\u00adsary to under\u00adcut the rock over a length of 50 m and to secure it with the help of rock sta\u00adbi\u00adliza\u00adtion mea\u00adsu\u00adres in the form of pre-stres\u00adsed grou\u00adted anchors before the rock excava\u00adtion work. This cut\u00adting and under\u00adcut\u00adting of the almost ver\u00adti\u00adcal rock for\u00adma\u00adtion requi\u00adres a high degree of rock sta\u00adbi\u00adliza\u00adtion and excava\u00adtion work that is extre\u00admely gentle on the rock. The work is moni\u00adto\u00adred by a per\u00adma\u00adnent and auto\u00adma\u00adtic mea\u00adsu\u00adring sys\u00adtem with regard to defor\u00adma\u00adtion. The future tun\u00adnel por\u00adtal in semi-open con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion will be deeply foun\u00added on bored piles on the val\u00adley side. All work in the area of the south por\u00adtal will take place on the old route of the B88 fede\u00adral road, which is cha\u00adrac\u00adte\u00adri\u00adzed by the direct pro\u00adxi\u00admity of the Gro\u00df\u00adhe\u00adrin\u00adgen-Saal\u00adfeld rail\u00adroad line (less than 10 m as the crow flies) and the resul\u00adting cram\u00adped con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion situa\u00adtion. While the north por\u00adtal can be built using the clas\u00adsic open con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion method in the road\u00adway pre-cut, the con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion of the south por\u00adtal requi\u00adres com\u00adpli\u00adca\u00adted con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion pro\u00adces\u00adses and advance plan\u00adning in addi\u00adtion to a com\u00adplex coun\u00adter-form\u00adwork
