As a sec\u00adtion of the Ger\u00adman Unity Trans\u00adport Pro\u00adject (VDE) No. 8 with the upgraded and new Nurem\u00adberg \u2014 Erfurt \u2014 Leipzig\/Halle \u2014 Ber\u00adlin line, the new Ebens\u00adfeld-Erfurt line (VDE 8.1) with a total length of approx. 107 km was desi\u00adgned as a stan\u00addard-gauge, dou\u00adble-track, elec\u00adtri\u00adfied rail\u00adroad line for high-qua\u00adlity pas\u00adsen\u00adger and freight traf\u00adfic. The design speed of the H\u00f6hn\u00adberg tun\u00adnel was the\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfore also set at 300 km\/h. In the H\u00f6hn\u00adberg tun\u00adnel, the route runs through Coburg sand\u00adstone, blad\u00adder sand\u00adstone and the Lehr\u00adberg lay\u00aders of the Middle Keu\u00adper. The lowest ground\u00adwa\u00adter level to be expec\u00adted is pre\u00addo\u00admi\u00adnantly in the area of the tun\u00adnel floor or below. The maxi\u00admum mea\u00adsu\u00adred groundwater\/stratum water level is expec\u00adted to be up to 10 m above the tun\u00adnel&nbsp;roof.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The dou\u00adble-track H\u00f6hn\u00adberg tun\u00adnel ascends from the south por\u00adtal in a nor\u00adt\u00adherly direc\u00adtion. At approx. tun\u00adnel meter 743, the sin\u00adgle-track F\u00fcll\u00adbach tun\u00adnel pas\u00adses under\u00adneath the dou\u00adble-track H\u00f6hn\u00adberg tun\u00adnel with an uphill cle\u00adarance of approx. 15 m. The Pfarr\u00adschrot land\u00adfill is plan\u00adned in the area of the H\u00f6hn\u00adberg and F\u00fcll\u00adbach tun\u00adnels. The plan\u00adned dum\u00adping height is max. 30 m. The maxi\u00admum rock cover of the tun\u00adnel roof is approx. 30 m below ground level. The tun\u00adnel tubes will be con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adted in the par\u00adtial excava\u00adtions of the crown, bench and floor. The tun\u00adnel tubes are lined with rein\u00adforced form\u00adwork con\u00adcrete and with an all-round seal\u00ading of pla\u00ads\u00adtic seal\u00ading sheets (KDB).
