Con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion method:<\/strong> Open-cut construction<\/p>\n\n

Con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion Phase 4 of the A26 will create a con\u00adnec\u00adtion bet\u00adween the Hamburg\/Lower Sax\u00adony state bor\u00adder and the A7. Part of this phase is the Hafen\u00adbahn Tun\u00adnel, through which the future A26 will pass under the tracks of the Ham\u00adburg Hafenbahn. <\/p>\n\n

At km 0+590, the A26 route cros\u00adses the Hausbruch\u2013Waltershof port rail\u00adway line. Here, a two-cell tun\u00adnel struc\u00adture appro\u00adxi\u00adm\u00adately 200 m long is being con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adted from water\u00adproof con\u00adcrete using the \u201cwhite box\u201d prin\u00adci\u00adple. To the east, it con\u00adnects to a trough ramp appro\u00adxi\u00adm\u00adately 70 m long; to the west lies the por\u00adtal area. <\/p>\n\n

The uni\u00adque geo\u00adtech\u00adni\u00adcal con\u00addi\u00adti\u00adons and ground\u00adwa\u00adter situa\u00adtion repre\u00adsent one of the key chal\u00adlenges in the con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion of the Hafen\u00adbahn Tun\u00adnel and play a decisive role in deter\u00admi\u00adning the cho\u00adsen con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion methods and the con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion sche\u00addule. In par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar, dewa\u00adte\u00adring, soil manage\u00adment, and ground impro\u00adve\u00adment pose signi\u00adfi\u00adcant tech\u00adni\u00adcal and logi\u00adsti\u00adcal chal\u00adlenges throug\u00adhout the entire con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion period. The sub\u00adgrade, which con\u00adsists pri\u00adma\u00adrily of peat and silt, has only a low bea\u00adring capa\u00adcity. Exten\u00adsive mea\u00adsu\u00adres to improve the sub\u00adgrade and to create sta\u00adble working sur\u00adfaces and con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion roads are the\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfore neces\u00adsary even for site operations. <\/p>\n\n

The excava\u00adtion pits will be enc\u00adlo\u00adsed using sheet piles, and bored pile walls will be used in the area of the exis\u00adting har\u00adbor rail\u00adway embank\u00adment. Inside the excava\u00adtion pits, the non-bea\u00adring soil will then be excava\u00adted using the wet dred\u00adging method. Divers are used to dredge the bot\u00adtom of the excava\u00adtion pit and prepare it for fur\u00adther work. The resul\u00adting mix\u00adture of soil and water is trea\u00adted and sepa\u00adra\u00adted through a com\u00adplex pro\u00adcess. This invol\u00adves the use of, among other things, sepa\u00adra\u00adtion sys\u00adtems, sett\u00adling tanks, floc\u00adcu\u00adlants, and geo\u00adtu\u00adbes. To dewa\u00adter the excava\u00adtion pits, ver\u00adti\u00adcally ancho\u00adred under\u00adwa\u00adter con\u00adcrete bases will then be con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adted. For this pur\u00adpose alone, we will pour a total of appro\u00adxi\u00adm\u00adately 18,350 m\u00b3 of under\u00adwa\u00adter con\u00adcrete, of which appro\u00adxi\u00adm\u00adately 7,850 m\u00b3 will be in the eas\u00adtern sec\u00adtion and 10,500 m\u00b3 in the wes\u00adtern section. <\/p>\n\n

Addi\u00adtio\u00adnal requi\u00adre\u00adments regar\u00adding con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion methods, equip\u00adment use, and con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion site logi\u00adstics arise from working under exis\u00adting high-vol\u00adtage power poles and in the imme\u00addiate vici\u00adnity of the ope\u00adra\u00adtio\u00adnal har\u00adbor rail\u00adway. Main\u00adtai\u00adning port rail\u00adway ope\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons during the con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion period also requi\u00adres divi\u00adding the excava\u00adtion pit and tun\u00adnel struc\u00adture into a wes\u00adtern and an eas\u00adtern con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion sec\u00adtion. The Har\u00adbor Rail\u00adway Tun\u00adnel is desi\u00adgned for one-way traf\u00adfic, with two main lanes in each direc\u00adtion. In addi\u00adtion, there are two entry lanes hea\u00adding toward Stade and one exit lane hea\u00adding toward Ham\u00adburg. The tun\u00adnel seg\u00adments, which are gene\u00adrally 10 m long and over 30 m wide, are con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adted in sec\u00adtions. First, the floor is pou\u00adred, fol\u00adlo\u00adwed by the cen\u00adter wall. The com\u00adple\u00adtion of a tun\u00adnel seg\u00adment invol\u00adves the simul\u00adta\u00adneous pou\u00adring of the outer walls and the cei\u00adling. Ano\u00adther distinc\u00adtive fea\u00adture of this con\u00adcrete con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion is the crea\u00adtion of the trough sec\u00adtions using com\u00adplex relief formwork. <\/p>\n\n

In the future, four tracks of the Ham\u00adburg Port Rail\u00adway will run through the tun\u00adnel: two through tracks and two siding tracks. In addi\u00adtion, the struc\u00adtu\u00adral foun\u00adda\u00adti\u00adons are being laid for a pos\u00adsi\u00adble future expan\u00adsion of the track lay\u00adout by the HPA. The pro\u00adject also includes exten\u00adsive ope\u00adra\u00adtio\u00adnal and drai\u00adnage sys\u00adtems. At the eas\u00adtern por\u00adtal, an ope\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons buil\u00adding, a fire\u00adwa\u00adter reser\u00advoir, an emer\u00adgency sto\u00adrage basin, a storm\u00adwa\u00adter pump sta\u00adtion, and a sedi\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion basin are being con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adted. Ano\u00adther fire\u00adwa\u00adter reser\u00advoir is plan\u00adned for the wes\u00adtern portal. <\/p>\n\n

Ano\u00adther uni\u00adque fea\u00adture of the pro\u00adject is the inte\u00adgra\u00adtion of soil manage\u00adment and land\u00adsca\u00adping: Excava\u00adted mate\u00adrial from the con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion pits of the har\u00adbor rail tun\u00adnel is being reu\u00adsed to build the green bridge. This includes a bat flight route, a farm road, a green cor\u00adri\u00addor con\u00adnec\u00adting the exis\u00adting green cor\u00adri\u00addors, and a land\u00adsca\u00adping fea\u00adture adja\u00adcent to the south. The Hafen\u00adbahn Tun\u00adnel thus com\u00adbi\u00adnes, within a con\u00adfi\u00adned space, sophisti\u00adca\u00adted engi\u00adnee\u00adring and spe\u00adcia\u00adli\u00adzed civil engi\u00adnee\u00adring with road and rail infra\u00adstruc\u00adture, as well as high demands on the con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion site, dewa\u00adte\u00adring, and con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion sequencing\u2014all while Hafen\u00adbahn ope\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons continue. <\/p>\n\n
