The Free Han­sea­tic City of Bre­men is plan­ning to build the new Georg-Droste-Schule (GDS) and the Regio­nal Coun­seling and Sup­port Cen­ter East (ReBUZ Ost) on the site of the for­mer school on Bar­do­wick­straße in the Vahr dis­trict. The pro­ject also includes a sin­gle-court sports hall as well as the design of the asso­cia­ted out­door faci­li­ties and open spaces. 

August Rei­ners Bau­un­ter­neh­mung GmbH was com­mis­sio­ned to carry out the pro­ject. The con­tract covers not only the com­plete plan­ning and con­s­truc­tion of the buil­dings, but also inte­rim con­s­truc­tion finan­cing, long-term finan­cing for seven years fol­lo­wing accep­tance, and the pro­vi­sion of buil­ding manage­ment ser­vices for a period of 25 years.
