The University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald is building a new central building yard on the “Am Helmshäger Berg” industrial and commercial estate in Greifswald. The 20,000 m² site will house administration and office buildings, workshops and washing halls for company vehicles, a gritting hall with a brine facility as well as garages, caports and storage areas.
When planning the new building, particular emphasis was placed on sustainability, such as a photovoltaic system, a combined heat supply and green roofs. The new building replaces the previous outdated building yard locations and creates modern working conditions for around 100 employees. In October 2025, AUGUST REINERS Bauunternehmung was awarded the contract for the extended shell construction work by the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald.
