Hegemann GmbH has been awarded the contract for the second phase of dredging work on the Elbląg River in Poland. The client is the Maritime Authority in Gdynia. The project is part of the fourth construction phase for the expansion of the waterway between the Vistula Lagoon (Zalew Wiślany) and the Bay of Gdańsk. The goal is to deepen the navigation channel to a consistent depth of five meters, thereby improving navigation conditions on the Elbląg River.
The new construction phase covers approximately 7.45 kilometers between the Frisches Haff and Point P1 near Elbląg. The work is being carried out by HEGEMANN GmbH in collaboration with its Dutch partner, Van den Herik Kusten Oeverwerken B.V. The dredging work is being carried out while shipping traffic continues, placing high demands on planning and execution.
As part of the overall project, archaeological investigations and measures for environmental protection and nature conservation are also planned.
With this new contract, HEGEMANN GmbH is taking on its share of the work to expand the waterway on the Elbląg River. We appreciate the trust our client has placed in us and look forward to successfully implementing this challenging project together with our partner.
