The Hanseatic City of Stralsund is planning to build a new three-form entry elementary school at the existing school site at Jaromarstraße 10 in Stralsund. The existing building used as a primary and secondary school, a container facility erected to increase capacity and associated sports halls are currently located on the site. The new three-storey school building in a cubic design with a single-storey extension, which will later house the assembly hall, will be erected as an independent building and will occupy the site of the former “Allende School”. In terms of media technology, the new school building will also be connected to the existing buildings.
There are currently 650 pupils at the Hermann Burmeister primary and regional school. The replacement building for the elementary school is therefore urgently needed. More than 300 girls and boys will then be able to study there from Year 1 to Year 4. The new, ultra-modern school building consists of a ground floor and two upper floors. The entire building is also barrier-free and individual classrooms and specialist teaching rooms will be equipped for inclusion. The Ministry of the Interior of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is supporting the new school building with a special needs grant of EUR 650,000.00.
